021626 Tell Congress: Restore Climate Rules Trump Just Erased

The Trump administration just  rescinded the scientific and legal foundation for ALL federal climate regulations under the Clean Air Act.

EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin finalized this rollback on Thursday, eliminating the agency's authority to regulate greenhouse gas emissions from vehicles, power plants, and other major pollution sources. The 2009 endangerment finding that allowed the federal government to fight climate change was based on extensive peer-reviewed science and has been repeatedly upheld in federal courts.

What's at stake:

  • Trillions in climate damages and healthcare costs as pollution goes unchecked

  • Loss of vehicle emissions standards that protect air quality and public health

  • Elimination of power plant regulations that limit carbon pollution

  • Increased asthma, lung disease, and premature deaths in vulnerable communities

  • Accelerated climate change affecting future generations

This isn't about economics—it's about payback. After the fossil fuel industry donated millions to Trump's campaign, they're getting what they paid for: the largest environmental deregulation in American history.

The science didn't change when Trump took office—only the EPA's willingness to protect public health. Congress has the power to fight back through oversight, legislation, and budget authority.
