042026 Tell Congress: Make Big Oil Pay for Its Iran War Windfall

Big Oil is making $30 million every hour off the Iran war — while you pay the price. Families across the world are paying more to fill their tanks and heat their homes since the US-Israeli war in Iran began.

Saudi Aramco stands to pocket $25.5 billion in windfall war profits in 2026 alone. ExxonMobil, which spent decades denying climate change, is on track for $11 billion. Shell, Chevron, Gazprom, and Rosneft are right behind them. And that money is coming out of your pockets.

The $234 billion in unearned war profits flowing to Big Oil by end of 2026 is bleeding the rest of us dry. Dozens of countries are already cutting public services to offset soaring fuel costs. Russia is receiving $840 million a day in oil revenues, directly fueling the war in Ukraine.

This is a transfer of wealth from ordinary people to the shareholders of oil and gas companies that have blocked climate action for decades. American companies like ExxonMobil and Chevron are among the biggest winners — and Congress has the power to change that.

Tell Congress to take two clear actions:

  1. Impose a windfall tax on oil and gas war profits. The billions being extracted from consumers by the end of 2026 must be taxed, with revenue directed toward energy relief for working families.

  2. Invest those revenues in a clean energy transition. Wind, solar, and other renewables are the only lasting path to energy security and climate stability — not more drilling.

In solidarity,
