The Department of Education is supposed to protect students' civil rights — but right now, it’s failing.

Here’s what’s happening:

  • The Office for Civil Rights (OCR) investigates discrimination and enforces students' rights in schools

  • Trump gutted this office, making it harder to fight discrimination based on race, gender, disability, and more

  • Congress still hasn’t restored critical funding or staffing to this office — leaving millions of students vulnerable

IEvery student deserves to feel safe and protected at school. But without a fully funded Office for Civil Rights, those protections mean nothing. There’s still time to act.

Tell Congress: Restore the Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights and protect students from discrimination.
